Dr. Weinman's Personal Journey

Greetings! I’m Dr. William Weinman DC, BCN. I look forward to reviewing your case at your upcoming appointment. I understand the frustration you may be experiencing in the lack of answers when it comes to your symptoms.  I was a neuropathy patient as well. As a member of the US military, I was exposed to heavy metals. These metals, paired with a parasite I would later contract, caused neuropathy symptoms I could no longer bear. I struggled with pain, numbness, extreme bloating, and fatique that led to depression and anxiety as I looked forward into the trajectory of my life.

I was sent from doctor to doctor with many tests but no answers and no results. The conclusion that was reiterated to me repeatedly was that neuropathy has no cure and the treatment is medications to mask the symptoms. When my symptoms increased, I was told the treatment was to increase the medications that failed to work initially.

This was not a solution I was willing to accept. I believed there had to be a better way. I started by attempting to counteract my symptoms. If I “muscled through” and denied my pain mentally, my hope was that my physical body would deny pain as well. I started training for an Ironman Triathlon with a determination of a constant active agenda. This only concluded with my symptoms amplifying.

My condition was not only affecting myself, but the relationships around me. I kept the severity of my condition from my wife in hopes to protect her from the anxiety I had inside regarding its progression. As I looked at my four young kids, I feared not being able to work and provide for them, support and protect them, or be there long term to see them grow up. This was not the life I was willing to settle for.

I turned to studying alternative methods to heal my rapidly declining body. I learned quickly how the entire body is connected. Knowledge is power. With this power, I chose to make changes resulting in my body healing itself. I eventually became Board Certified in Neuropathy. Through a program focusing on retraining the nerves and delivering adequate blood-flow throughout the body, I can confidently say I no longer struggle with neuropathy. My body has experienced healing resulting in regaining a hope for my future.

It's our mission here at One Degree Functional Health to help others experience hope, health, and happiness. I’m excited for you to begin your healing process and to experience your life symptom free.
